Comments

When visitors leave comments on the website, we collect the information displayed in the comment form as well as the visitor’s IP address and the browser’s user agent string to help detect spam.

An anonymized string created based on your email address (also called a hash value) may be sent to the Gravatar service to determine if you are registered there. The privacy policy for the Gravatar service is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been approved, your profile picture will be displayed publicly along with your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images where EXIF data includes data from GPS location. Visitors to the website can download and retrieve all positioning information from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website, you can choose to save your name, e-mail address and website address in cookies. This is for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in this information again the next time you write a comment. These cookies are valid for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to check if your browser accepts them. This cookie does not contain any personal information and it disappears when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also create several cookies to save information about your login and your choices for designing the screen layout. Login cookies are valid for two days and layout selection cookies are valid for one year. If you tick “Remember me”, your cookie will remain for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be deleted.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie file will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal information but only indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It is valid for 1 day.

Embedded content from other sites

Articles on this site may contain embedded content (such as videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in exactly the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect information about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking and monitor your interaction with said embedded content, including tracking your interaction with this embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to the website in question.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we keep your information

If you write a comment, the comment and its metadata will be saved indefinitely. The reason for this is that we need to be able to find and approve follow-up comments automatically and not put them in a queue for review.

For users who register on your website (if any), we also save the personal information they enter in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal data at any time (except that they can not change their username). The site administrators can also view and edit this information.

What rights do you have over your data

If you have an account or have written any comments on this website, you can request an export file with the personal information we have about you, including all information you have given us. You can also request that we delete all personal information we have about you. This does not include any information that we have to save for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Where we send your information

Comments from visitors may be checked via an automated spam detection service.
